Prepare to polka as Sienna Plantation fires up the oompah band for its age 21-and-up Oktoberfest celebration at the Village of Sawmill Lake model home park, 9815 Cameron Way, 4-8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22.

The event will be a fete of German food, music and games. Performing will be two bands — Mike and the Middletones and Jerry and The Melody Five — who will invite guests to dance their best polkas. A Biergarten will serve beer and cider, and food trucks Sauerkraut, Cousins Maine Lobster, To Go Kitchen, Foodgasm and Anna Greek will offer a variety of cuisines. Event-goers also will be able to try their hand at German-themed lawn games.

Oktoberfest is open to the public. Admission is $10, which includes one drink ticket, one food ticket and a commemorative Sienna bierstein. Those wanting additional food or beverages will be able to purchase items from the food trucks or buy drink tickets. Event-goers are encouraged to bring identification, as it will be required for entry.

“There will be plenty of reasons to cheer ‘Prost!’ during this adults-only event,” said Alvin San Miguel, general manager of Sienna Plantation. “It’s a nice chance for the public to sample the kind of events our residents enjoy all year long.”

Proceeds from Oktoberfest benefit the Fort Bend Education Foundation, a non-profit organization that provides grants to teachers and schools within Fort Bend Independent School District. The foundation has awarded nearly $32 million since its inception in 1992.

Sienna Plantation hosts a variety of events throughout the year staged at community water parks, amphitheater and other amenities. Homes are priced from the $280,000s. For more information about Sienna Plantation, visit www.siennaplantation.com.
