Riverstone will celebrate 15 years as one of Texas’ top-selling communities with a barbecue birthday bash from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24.
The community will mark the occasion with free barbecue, live music and family fun at The Club at Riverstone, 18353 University Boulevard. The 15th Birthday Celebration is free and open to the public.
“This is going to be a birthday party of epic proportions,” said Trey Reichert, vice president and general manager of Riverstone. “Riverstone has been one of the leading Texas communities almost since its inception 15 years ago, and it is still going strong today. I would say that is something to celebrate.”
In addition to Spring Creek Barbecue’s sliced brisket and smoked turkey sandwiches, side dishes and desserts, guests will enjoy 70’s funk and classic rock performed by The Grateful Geezers band followed by Mary Sarah, semi-finalist on NBC’s The Voice.
Tea and lemonade will be provided free of charge but local breweries, Karbach, No Label and St. Arnold will be on hand with signature brews for purchase. Wine, soda and water also will be available. No outside alcohol is permitted.
Inflatables — such as the human walking zorb balls — face painters, balloon twisters and other activities will keep partygoers entertained throughout the day.
Sponsors for include First Choice Emergency Room and Republic Services.
Riverstone began home sales in 2001with eight production and custom builders offering a variety of designs on land purchased by Johnson Development Corp. in 1999.
The development grew slowly and reached 1,000 home sales within seven years, doubling that number just four years later in 2012. Today 12 production builders and five custom builders have built more than 4,000 homes in the award-winning development, which is designed for 6,000 homes. Homes are priced from the $300,000s to the millions.
